Illawarra Institute

TAFE NSW – Illawarra Institute employs over 1,500 dedicated staff and offers an extensive range of courses to over 40,000 local students with work experience placement for long term studies.

The Illawarra Institute has 14 colleges spanning a geographic area of 1,400 kilometres with the Wollongong campus being the largest. Campuses are also located in Bega, Cooma, Dapto, Goulburn, Moruya, Moss Vale, Nowra, Queanbeyan, Shellharbour, Ulladulla, Wollongong West, Yallah and Yass.

This provides a diverse and unique range of locations and settings including a city, coastal towns, country areas, snow fi elds and rural surroundings. This enables the Institute to specialise in a variety of courses including Nursing, Veterinary Nursing, Cookery and Hospitality, Rural Studies, Engineering and Civic Construction, to name a few.

The main campus is centrally-located in an education precinct surrounded by two high schools and the University of Wollongong.

New Snow to Surf Internship Program

TAFE NSW – Illawarra Institute is offering international students an opportunity to undertake a two year Diploma of Hospitality Management (includes Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery) as a customised program delivered at our Snowy Mountains Cooma Campus and our coastal based Nowra Campus.

A key feature of the program will be guaranteed paid seasonal employment placements in two locations: Australia’s spectacular Snowy Mountains region for the Australian winter ski seasons (June to October) and on the pristine New South Wales South Coast for the peak summer holiday period (December to January).

The Snow to Surf program will be delivered at our modern, purpose-built hospitality training facilities which are considered among the best professional training environments in Australia.
