Airport Transport
Transport from the airport to Sydney and suburbs
Sydney airport is located 8km from central Sydney.
1. Airport reception service
- TAFE NSW can arrange for a representative to meet you at the airport when you arrive and take you to your accommodation.
- If you wish to book this service, you should tick the 'airport reception' box on the TAFE NSW application form. We will send you a service request form so you can tell us your arrival date, time, airline and flight number.
- There is a fee of A$140 (GST inclusive) for airport reception service that is charged at the same time as your tuition fees.
2. Taxi or train
- Taxis to the city centre will cost about A$25-A$40
- The AirportLink rail service runs from Sydney Airport to the city centre every 10 minutes. The fare from the Airport to Central Station is A$14.80
If you get lost you can telephone the International Students Centre during office hours Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 6:00pm on 1300 302 456 (freecall). You could also take a taxi from the airport to the ISC office (weekdays only).
Transport to other cities in New South Wales
- If you will be studying at a coastal or inland TAFE NSW campus, you may need to travel from Sydney to that location on another flight, or by train or bus.
- You may be able to arrange a connecting flight. Otherwise your International Student Coordinator at your TAFE college will advise you which train or bus to catch to your college.
- If you need to stay overnight in Sydney, your International Student Coordinator at your TAFE college can help you book temporary accommodation in Sydney.
- Most trains or buses to Sydney metropolitan areas or other NSW city centres leave from Sydney Central railway station.
