Accommodation Placement
TAFE NSW can arrange short-term homestay accommodation for you for when you arrive in Australia. You may choose to live with a homestay family for a few weeks to a few months to give you time to settle into your new life in Australia and to make your own arrangements to rent or share accommodation.
'Homestay' is when you live with an Australian family in their home.
The homestay family will provide you with:
- Your own room with a study desk
- Meals (2 meals per day on weekdays and 3 meals on weekends)
- Laundry facilities.
Usually, you will be asked to share some household chores.
Homestay gives you a good opportunity to practise your English in an informal, supportive environment.
Homestay costs range from A$220- A$250 per week.
Homestay accommodation for students under 18 years of age includes guardianship arrangements and ranges from A$260- A$280 per week.
To book Accommodation Placement service, please tick the box on your application form. We will send you a Service Request form with your offer letter asking you to confirm your requirements. The Accommodation Placement fee (for students over 18) is A$165 (GST inclusive) and the Accommodation Placement and Guardian Arrangement fee (for student under 18) is A$250 (GST inclusive).
