Description

Designed for people who want to work in the events industry as an event manager, festival manager, sports event manager, arts event manager, corporate event manager or similar.

Develop your knowledge of the events industry and acquire a range of management, budgetary and event-specific skills including the selection of appropriate venues, development of event concepts, information technology skills for events, risk management, operational planning and event specific project management. You will have the opportunity to undertake work placement within the event industry.

Entry Requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • Prerequisite: Certificate 3 qualification in an events-related area including Business, Entertainment, Hospitality, Museums and Libraries, Music, Sport and Recreation or Tourism; OR have held paid or voluntary employment experience at an operational, coordination or management level. As a minimum, employment experience must reflect the full scope and range of competencies in a Certificate 3 qualification.
  • Students must be 18 years of age or older if they are undertaking modules that involve the service of alcohol and gaming operations
  • Academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 51 or Certificate 3 in English for Further Study at TAFE NSW or equivalent
  • Academic IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL (iBT) 68 or Certificate 3 in English for Further Study at TAFE NSW or equivalent for Diploma-to-Degree courses (DIAC 573 visa requirement)
