Booking your flight

• Book your flight early: flights before the beginning of each semester (December to February and June to July) can be heavily booked
• Confirm your flight as soon as you receive your student visa
• Arrive at least a week before your course starts. You need time to settle into your new surroundings
• Attend the orientation session for new students at your campus. The orientation session is usually a few days before your course starts
• Attend your TAFE NSW Institute from the first day to the last day of semester or, for English Language students, from the first day to the last day of your course. If you are unable to attend college on the starting date, or if you have to return home before your course finishes, you must write a letter to the DEC International Students Centre to explain why. This is a condition of your student visa
