TAFE NSW only accepts academic IELTS test scores.

Depending on your nationality, the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship might accept only an IELTS result as proof of English competency for student visa purposes.

  • Most courses require Australian Year 10 or equivalent
  • Some courses require Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent

Entry to some courses has a prerequisite (for example, completion of a prior course).

Check the details listed under "Entry Requirements" on each course information page for specific academic and other requirements.

If you do not have a Year 12 equivalent qualification, but have other post-school qualifications, your application can still be considered.
