Fees

Application fee

  • A$100 for TAFE Certificate or Diploma course, or
  • A$150 for English Language Course, or
  • A$150 for packaged English Language plus Certificate or Diploma vocational course

Tuition fees

  • General English course ranges from A$300 to A$340 per week.
  • TAFE NSW Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses range from A$5,030 to A$36,690 for the full course fee. Refer to information in the Courses section for specific course tuition fees.

Course fees for Certificate and Diploma courses include tuition, orientation program, additional study skills tuition, access to libraries, computers and other campus facilities, and assistance from student advisers and counsellors.

Your course fees do not include cost of textbooks, stationery, uniforms, accommodation, meals, health cover, or transport.

Arrival Services

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

In 2009, the cost for standard OSHC is A$354 per year per single student. If you are married and your spouse and children will be with you while you study in Australia, you will pay a higher rate for family cover.

Uniforms, equipment and textbooks*

Uniforms, equipment and textbooks costs range from A$300 - A$1,000 per course. For example:

  • Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) students should allow A$300-A$400 for a knife kit and uniform
  • Hairdressing students should allow A$125 for an equipment kit and A$495 for workbooks
  • Information Technology students should allow A$1,000 for specific qualifications such as CISCO certification (optional)
  • Maritime students should allow A$1,500 for specific qualifications such as Marine GMDSS Operation
  • Diploma of Aviation students should allow A$50,000 to cover the cost of flying training practical components, Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) theory exams, CASA documents, textbooks and equipment
  • Dental Technology students are charged a $300 per semester fee for use of materials in the dental laboratory
