Sydney Institute

In 2011, the Institute celebrated its 120-year anniversary. The Institute has seven colleges located in and around the city centre, close to many of Sydney's famous tourist attractions - the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Chinatown and Bondi Beach.

Sydney Institute is a great place to study with more than 2,000 international students from over 80 countries enrolling each year. However, the vast majority of our students are Australian: around 95% of our students are local so international students have lots of opportunities to make Australian friends. We offer:

• Colleges in the centre of Sydney and surrounding suburbs, close to public transport
• Over 100 courses for international students from six months to three-year duration
• The largest English Language Centre in TAFE NSW called SITEC

Higher Education

In 2011 Sydney Institute introduced TAFE NSW's first degree - the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) at the Design Centre Enmore. The Institute will introduce more higher education programs in 2012.

Sydney Institute Colleges

Ultimo College

Ultimo College, in the city centre is close to restaurants, shopping, sightseeing and provides part-time job opportunities for students. It is next door to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and within walking distance of the University of Sydney.

Ultimo College offers a wide range of courses including Foundation studies with direct entry to UTS undergraduate programs, Accounting, Business, Marketing, Property Services (Valuation), Hospitality, Tourism, Veterinary Nursing, Engineering, Information Technology, Building Studies, Architectural Technology, Surveying and Music.

Ultimo also offers one of the best Fashion Design courses in Australia and graduates include internationally renowned fashion designers such as Akira Isogawa.

At Ultimo's English Language Centre, SITEC, English courses give students direct entry to TAFE and selected universities.

Randwick College

Located between the city and Bondi Beach, and near the University of New South Wales, Randwick College is the only centre for Dental Technology in the state. It also has excellent courses in Dental Assisting (Oral Health Education), Wall and Floor Tiling, Fitness, Business, Children's Services and Interactive Digital Media.

Petersham College

Petersham College is close to the city centre and near the University of Sydney. It has excellent Information Technology courses and is a CISCO Networking Academy. It also offers Interpreting, Children's Services and Business courses.

St George College

Located in the pleasant southern suburbs of Sydney, close to shops and restaurants, St George College has excellent Business, Tourism, Graphic Design, Health and Community Welfare courses.

Design Centre Enmore

One of Australia's leading design institutions, the Design Centre Enmore led the way in 2011 with the introduction of TAFE NSW's first degree program – the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design). Teachers, students and graduates regularly win national and international prizes and are employed at some of Australia's most successful design companies. The Design Centre Enmore offers Product, Jewellery, Interior, and Graphic Design courses as well as Design for Live Production and 3D Animation courses.

Sutherland College

Sutherland College has two campuses, Loftus and Gymea, in beautiful southern Sydney, close to national parks and wonderful beaches. Train and bus services connect with the centre of Sydney. Sutherland College specialises in Sport and Fitness, Hospitality, and Children's Services.
