TIEC Liverpool Students Celebrate Success with English


On Friday 26 June, TAFE International Education Centre (TIEC) Liverpool at TAFE NSW – South Western Sydney Institute, congratulated 70 international students who successfully completed Certificate 3 in English for Further Study.
The graduation, attended by Garry Browne, Associate Director of Business and Madelinka Sulic, Manager - International Business Development, included student presentations, speeches and a lively musical performance by two very talented Vietnamese students. Mr. Kashif Ali, a student from Pakistan, also received an Endeavour Awards.
To celebrate the graduation, students produced a newsletter with excellent examples of their writing, art and photography and included popular excursions program which focused on Australian culture, geography and history. The images and text reflected many positive experiences shared by the students while studying and living in Sydney.
At TAFE International Education Centre Liverpool, staff prepare international students for further study in Australia through academic and cultural programs. The Certificate 3 in English for Further Study is the English entry requirement for all TAFE courses, except Nursing.
Of the 60 English language students who will articulate to TAFE NSW, 42 will remain with South Western Sydney Institute and study at Liverpool, Campbelltown, Bankstown and Granville Colleges. From July 2009, most of the students are enrolled in Accounting, Hospitality, Information Technology, Community Welfare, Children’s Services, Electrical Technology and Hairdressing.
The TAFE colleges, students and teachers look forward to welcoming these students to their friendly multicultural campuses.
