Course outcomes

The Diploma courses will provide students with the skills to achieve NAATI accreditation at the paraprofessional level, and the Advanced Diploma will provide students to achieve NAATI accreditation at the professional level.

Entry requirements

Diploma

  • Successful completion of Certificate 3 in English for Further Study at a TAFE ELICOS
    centre OR IELTS 6.0 (academic) or TOEFL (iBT) 68 or equivalent
  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • Conversational fluency in English and either Mandarin OR Korean

Advanced Diploma

  • Successful completion of the Diploma of Interpreting and Translating (Paraprofessional) OR IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL (iBT) 97 or successful completion of the Certificate 4 in English for Academic Purposes at TAFE NSW or equivalent OR NAATI accreditation at the paraprofessional level in the relevant language and proven work experience OR a recognised tertiary qualification in any discipline PLUS satisfactory completion of a bi-lingual entry test
