Stuart Korova - Papua New Guinea
Advanced Diploma of Electrical Technology

Stuart Korova is a recipient of an AusAid Australian Development Scholarship (ADS). He selected TAFE NSW – Hunter Institute for its quality of education and the high standards of its teachers.
Stuart decided to study Electrical Technology to assist the growing mining industries in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
"I really enjoy the practical sessions in class as well as meeting other international students," says Stuart. He is impressed with the modern facilities as well as the dedication of the staff. "Teachers allow for extra time with students as well as tutorial classes," he said.
The aim of the ADS scholarship is to provide opportunities for people from developing countries to study in Australia and be able to transfer those skills to their own countries.
TAFE NSW – Hunter Institute is located approximately two hours north of Sydney. Newcastle is the second largest city in New South Wales and is a great study location. The Hunter region features NSW's premier wine growing area and outstanding tourist attractions in Newcastle, Gosford and Port Stephens.
The Hunter region offers great facilities, plenty of employment, and lower living costs for international students. TAFE NSW – Hunter Institute has a diverse group of international students from the Middle East, Europe and Asia with an annual enrolment of 50,000 local and international students.
Stuart recommends studying at TAFE NSW and living in the Hunter region. "The study environment is peaceful and facilities are modern plus the teachers are helpful." When he graduates from his course, Stuart will return to PNG and be able to apply what he has learned at TAFE NSW to develop his country further.
