Rosario Sotero – Peru
Certificate 3 in English for Further Study
Studying at TAFE NSW is a family tradition for Rosario Sotero. "My sister studied at TAFE NSW before and she told me about it," she said.
TAFE NSW is the largest education and training provider in Australia and offers over 1,200 practical, work-oriented training courses in over 130 campus locations in Sydney and New South Wales.
TAFE NSW offers a wide range of diploma and Diploma-to-Degree programs in areas such as business, marketing, hospitality management, tourism, fashion and design.
Rosario is currently completing a Certificate 3 in English for Further Study at TAFE NSW – North Sydney English Centre at Crows Nest which is one of seven TAFE English centres in Sydney and New South Wales. South American students are able to study English and progress to vocational diploma courses, and Diploma-to-Degree courses.
"I want to migrate to Australia," said Rosario who will complete her course at the end of the year. Many TAFE NSW courses are also high-demand skilled occupation courses for students who intend to apply for permanent residency. She admits that learning a new language has been challenging. "It is good the teachers speak slowly," she said.
She enjoys the various teaching methods used in class as well as making many friends
from all over the world. Class sizes at all TAFE NSW English Centres are small, with a maximum of 20 students. All TAFE NSW English Centres have flexible intakes and offer a wide range of English courses including IELTS preparation and Cambridge Examination Courses.
"I definitely recommend TAFE NSW to other students," she said.
