Rocio Rojas – Chile
Certificate 3 in English for Further Study
Rocio Rojas knew of TAFE NSW's reputation through family in her native Chile. "I was told TAFE NSW was a good Institute where I could study," she said. She selected the TAFE NSW – North Sydney English Centre at Crows Nest to study Certificate 3 in English for Further Study.
Rocio, like many South American students, decided to come to TAFE NSW to study English before deciding on a vocational course. South American students are able to study English and the progress to vocational courses and TAFE NSW Diploma-to-Degree university options.
"I chose to study at TAFE NSW to improve my English and to get a better job in the future," she said.
TAFE NSW – North Sydney English Centre is one of seven TAFE English centres in Sydney and New South Wales. Rocio has been impressed with their facilities. "The campus is a very comfortable place with modern computer facilities," she said. Her teachers have been instrumental in improving her English language skills. "My teachers help me in my study. They talk to me and correct my work. They speak slowly and clearly. My teachers and classmates are friendly. I learn more English everyday."
TAFE NSW is the largest education and training provider in Australia and offers over 1,200 practical, work-oriented training courses in 130 campus locations in Sydney and New South Wales. TAFE NSW offers a wide range of diploma and Diploma-to-Degree programs in areas such as business, marketing, hospitality management, tourism, fashion and design.
Rocio hopes to continue her studies at TAFE NSW after completing her English course. "TAFE NSW is a good place to study," she said.
