Diploma of Accounting

"I first heard about TAFE NSW from some of my relatives living in Australia. I decided to study with TAFE NSW because the fees were quite affordable compared to going straight to university. Also TAFE NSW prepares you for university and the level of education at TAFE NSW is excellent.
I chose to study accounting because I always wanted to work in the financial sector, and there are so many career opportunities.
One of the benefits of studying with TAFE NSW is that the education system is technical and career oriented. My TAFE NSW teachers were always there for me and they are very good at their job. I think that the environment and the way in which you are taught impacts on your studies. The teachers here are really friendly, and that made my learning at TAFE NSW quite easy.
The campus facilities were great. I found the library really useful for my studies and so were the other support classes.
You don't always need to be studying though. The Student Association offers lots of activities where you can relax and enjoy yourself. I coped with missing home by getting more involved in the Australian style. I made Australian friends, as well as friends from all over the world.
I received first prize award for Diploma of Accounting and also received the 2006 International Student Award of the Year from South Western Sydney Institute. These types of achievements really help boost your self-esteem and confidence, and is a great motivation to strive for perfection.
I finished my studies at TAFE NSW in December 2005 and in 2006 I started a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting at university.
I would recommend TAFE NSW to students. It would be great if everyone could experience what I did, so that they can know what I am talking about."
