When Harmeet's aunty and uncle in Australia recommended that she travel to Australia to study at TAFE NSW, she knew it was a fantastic opportunity. "I wanted something different in my life, so to go to another country and study was great," she said.

Harmeet has enjoyed her experience studying the Diploma of Children's Services at TAFE NSW—North Coast Institute. "The best part about studying at TAFE are the excellent teachers who are very helpful and supportive, the good facilities like the library and the many great friends I have made," she said. "And the internationally recognised qualification I achieved now I have finished my studies."

Harmeet lives in Coffs Harbour, on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, less than a one-hour flight from Sydney. "The campus is really close to my home and it is very easy to get to each day," she said. "Coffs Harbour is a beautiful place, close to the beach and with a lot of greenery."

TAFE NSW—North Coast Institute has many exceptional facilities including a design centre, a music centre, a massage therapy clinic, a freshwater aquaculture centre and the Djigay Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal Education. Hospitality students train in the International School of Hotel Catering and Tourism Management and students studying Children's Services train in a real childcare centre.

Now she has graduated from her course, Harmeet would like to work in childcare centre in Australia for a few years. "Then I want to go back to India and open up my own childcare centre there," she said.

"I've been lucky to study in Australia. I have learned a lot and it has been an amazing experience."
