Agents experience New South Wales education first-hand

Eight offshore representatives from the People’s Republic of China, India, Thailand and Vietnam were welcomed to Sydney in November. They participated in an agent familiarisation visit to regional and metropolitan TAFE NSW Institutes and NSW Government Schools and focused on learning environments and facilities.
The agents represented Aoji Education Group (Beijing OZ), EIC Group, IDP Shanghai, Kangaroo Studies Pvt. Ltd, Canam Consultants, CP Education Australia, Services for Education Consultancy and Training (SET) and IDP Education Ho Chi Minh City.
Agents were given opportunities to meet and interact with international students, especially those they had referred to New South Wales. They also met school principals, staff from Institutes and DET International Students Centre, and enjoyed a city sightseeing tour.
The familiarisation visits are an important component of DET International’s marketing activities with its worldwide agent network.
Each customised visit focuses on the agent’s source market and provides in-depth information about courses and facilities to meet the needs and aspirations of students and parents in their home country. Agent visits may include:
- primary schools (Kindergarten to Year 6 programs)
- secondary schools to discuss intensive English language, junior and senior secondary courses including Higher School Certificate matriculation
- TAFE College facilities including English Language Centres and a wide range of certificate to diploma courses
- Marketing, admissions and compliance training with DET International Regional Team Leaders.
Special thanks to TAFE NSW Institute Managers, Peter Freeman and Veronica Ryan, who organised the weekend city tour for November visitors.
