If family and friends are meeting you at Sydney International Airport, give them your flight details, and arrival date and times.
Airport Pickup
You should ask for the airport pickup service if family or friends are not meeting you at the airport.
You can book airport pickup through DEC International Students Centre. It costs A$140 and you can pay for this service when you pay your tuition fees.
If you have asked for airport pickup, please give DEC International Students Centre details of your arrival at least 2 weeks before you are due to arrive.
A representative meets you at the Arrivals Hall after you have been processed by Customs. If your flight is delayed, the representative will wait for you. Please do not leave the airport until you meet the airport pickup representative. A contact number for the representative will be provided for use in case you have trouble finding the representative.
Other Transport
Taxis to Sydney city centre cost about A$25–A$40.
The AirportLink rail service runs from Sydney Airport to the city centre every 10 minutes. The fare from the Airport to Central Station is approximately A$15.40. At Central Station you can catch trains or buses to Sydney metropolitan areas or NSW regional centres.
If you get lost, call your guardian or homestay host, or go to your nearest police station for help. Alternatively, you can telephone DEC International Students Centre on 131 601 during office hours: Mondays to Fridays between 8:30am and 6:00pm. You could also take a taxi from the airport to DEC International Students Centre office (weekdays only).
