Australian students attend school for 13 years.

Class hours are usually from 9:00am to 3:30pm, 5 days a week; some schools have slightly different class hours to suit local needs.
Places are available for international students at:
- Some NSW government primary schools
- More than 200 NSW government high schools.
Student visa holders apply to DEC International Students Centre to enrol in NSW government primary schools and high schools.
