Bid success for Shanghai World Expo 2010
On behalf of TAFE NSW, DET International has won the bid to develop the Workforce Training Master Plan for the Shanghai World Expo 2010. World Expo is the third largest international event after the Olympic Games and the World Cup.
The Workforce Training Master Plan is the blueprint for managing the delivery of training to the entire organisational workforce across all events and activities. Event organisers will recruit and train approximately 180,000 paid, volunteer and contractor staff in the lead up to the 2010 event.
Work on the Master Plan will commence in Shanghai in March 2008, with operational training plans implemented up to April 2010. DET International emerged as the successful bidder against strong international competition. DET International's expertise in large-scale, major event training and planning includes the Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, and Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Doha Asian Games 2006, the Rugby World Cup 2003 and the All Africa Games 2003.
