DEC International in partnership with TAFE NSW provided capacity building programs that addressed local requirements, including the mentoring of national trainers and assisted in quality assurance evaluation to ensure that programs continued to be relevant to students’ needs.
Perhebat – Institutional Strengthening: 2003
The Perhebat Project involved the implementation of substantial capacity building and institutional strengthening objectives for the Armed Forces Resettlement Training College.
This institutional strengthening was achieved through:
- Development of curriculum facilities and resources across 16 programs
- Development of assessment models
- Development of school administration procedures
- Development of quality assurance procedures for delivery of courses
- Delivery of teacher training.
The college has an annual budget of RMB13,000,000 and trains 4,000 students per year and is successfully continuing to deliver project outcomes.
Courses have been delivered in:
- Power transmission and controls
- Heavy Vehicle maintenance
- Automatic transmissions
- Electronic fuel injection
- Panel beating and spray paining
- Tractor repair and maintenance
- Small engines and outboard motors
- Vehicle maintenance
