DEC International provided extensive consultancy services, training the volunteer workforce in preparation for the Athens 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Olympic and Paralympic Games Workforce Training Services: Athens 2004
TAFE NSW, through DEC International, provided:
- Expertise, technical assistance and project management services in the development of a master plan and action plans
- Curriculum and teaching and learning resources for volunteer and management training
- Training needs analysis and curriculum and teaching resources in English and Greek for over 3,500 Athens Organising Committee staff and 60,000 volunteers
Hellenic Organisation of Telecommunications and COSMOTE Mobile Telecommunications
DEC International provided these two official telecommunications sponsors with:
- Training needs analyses
- Training master plan
- ‘Train the trainer’ program
- Training modules
DEC International contextualised over 1,200 training manuals and resources and supervised the translation. This contextualisation reflected the Greek culture and vision for the Games. All materials were provided to the Athens Olympic Committee in Greek and English. DEC International supported the delivery of the training and developed a Trainer’s Training program which enabled Greek managers and supervisors to deliver all training programs in a style appropriate to their culture.
